Evan's ABC song
When we were in Salt Lake last Saturday, Evan came to us all excited to sing his ABC song. He had several renditions of this and we simply loved Cowboy Duke's version of the ABC song.

I love General Conference
On Saturday we went to Salt Lake to General Conference to attend the morning session. We were meeting Rainee, Doug, Carson and Doug's parents so that we could all be together. Rainee had decided that it would be fun to go and since Doug's Dad is being released as Stake President in May she thought she should take advantage of the tickets. Carson turned 8 in February so he would be able to attend for the first time. We were able to get some tickets as well and Jessica and Mac had obtained tickets for the afternoon session. Jessica and Mac attended Jessica's missionary reunion in Orem on Friday so they thought they would work their way back to Salt Lake and go to a session on Saturday. When they found out we were going to go to the morning session they thought it would be more fun to go with us. We were unable to find one more ticket so they could come but I thought if they tried to get one in the standby line they might have a chance. At the last minute on Saturday morning they decided to brave the cold and stand in line but when they were walking to the conference center there was a man who was trying to get any extra tickets any one was willing to give up. Well they had 2 tickets to the afternoon session so they told him they had 2 but needed 1 for the morning session. He had a ticket so they traded and they met us at the conference center. It was just so great to have all of us together and we were able to sit and partake of the beautiful spirit that is in that building. The witness you receive when the Tabernacle Choir sings is so strong and powerful that it is truly amazing. The talks were just as powerful and it is such an uplift when conference is over (I love the feeling that you can pretty much conquer anything).
After the session we went to Doug's sister's and had lunch with his family. Mac and Dad were also able to get tickets to go to the Priesthood session that evening and attend with Doug and the men in his family. We dropped off Mac and Dad and seeing the "Army of Helaman" congregate in one building is really a sight to see as they walked towards the Conference Center. We went shopping at the Gateway while they were in the Priesthood session. We were going to pick them up afterwards. The story of getting through the traffic to pick them up is now hilarious but at the time it was quite stressful. We were going to meet them at 3rd East and South Temple. We were driving and when we got just past the Conference Center there were about 3 fire engines with flashing lights and firemen were directing traffic off of South Temple and up into the Avenues. We started driving up the hill and went into a DEAD END! We turned around and went up the next street and it also was a DEAD END! After the 3rd DEAD END and passing the same cars a couple of times we decided that the only way out was the way we came in. We could not figure out what the firemen were thinking directing traffic into a DEAD END! When we got back to where the firemen were they had opened the road back up so we went back the way we had intended to go in the first place! Well because we weren't where we were supposed to be of course Mac and Dad kept walking and we played try to find Mac and Dad for 15 minutes. To increase our frustration they had also put their phones on vibrate so they couldn't hear the phones ringing and we were driving around trying to figure out where they would be. I guess we could call this Drama the"Comedy of Errors" or maybe we should call it the "Keystone Firemen", since they were running around directing traffic up 3 DEAD ENDS. We made it back safe and sound to our hotel and the rest of the evening was much less stressful.

Sunday morning we got up and had breakfast and drove up to Liberty to listen to conference at Grandma and Grandpa Shaw's and visit with all of the family. It was a great day and after listening to Conference I feel so motivated to do more, be better, and endure to the end. I love it!

Does it look like Spring????
This last Monday and Tuesday we watched ( well I should say Caitlin watched them but they stayed at our house) Tydon and Kace while Nate and Rachel were in Tuscon. I know their weather did not look like this! I took these pictures of them Monday afternoon while they had fun sledding on the hill. It looks like the middle of winter to me.Sunday, March 29, 2009
Lincoln's blessing day
Today Lincoln Clark Jones was blessed and it was a blessed day. It started out with a big snowstorm and we were wondering if we would make it to church, but all is well and we made it.
This picture turned out so cute and because of the light from the skylight it looks like he has this glow about him, I snapped this picture before they were ready for the "official" picture and I think it is my favorite. Isaac said that when he got to the church Lincoln was being quite fussy and when he walked up to the front to give Lincoln his blessing he started to quiet down and then when they were in the circle and Isaac started the blessing he stopped and looked up at his Dad and gave him this cute little grin that stayed on his face for the remainder of the blessing. Isaac said he felt like Lincoln knew it was his special day and said it Looked like he was saying,"Thanks, Dad for giving me this blessing."

A Sneek Peak before tomorrow is here.
I know it is late but I was so excited when I got these treats started that I just had to finish them and show how cute they are. I was on Bakerella and saw these little chicks and thought,"I need to make some of those for Lincoln's baby blessing tomorrow." So I started them before I went to the YW meeting and had to finish them when I got back. They really aren't that time consuming except for putting on the little eyes, wings and feet.

They start out with a cake mix that you cook and make into a cake and then after it has cooled you put it in a food processor and make "dirt" out of it. You then add a can of cream cheese frosting and make that concoction into the little balls and then you put them in the fridge to cool. ( That was what I did before the meeting.)
Then you dip them in the chocolate and stick them in Styrofoam until the chocolate hardens and using a toothpick and some melted chocolate you add the tiny coated chocolate chips to the little bodies. I used an edible marker to make the eyes.
I then thought I should make some bunnies and they turned out okay but Ryan told me that bunnies don't have whiskers so I had to try again with out the whiskers. They kind of look like bunnies, I think.

They were fun to make and I already know that they are delicious because Rachel made me some for Valentines day. Hers were made with the dark chocolate and looked like truffles and they were very good. Okay I am going to bed now, I think I will dream of bunnies and chicks.
Tulips

A few years ago we went to Holland at about this time of year and we were able to go to a flower farm and seeing these pictures reminds me of that day. Aren't these pictures just the most colorful fields you have ever seen? Someday... I am going back because it was just the most enjoyable experience.

I really liked the flower markets everywhere. There was a bunch of fresh flowers everywhere you went, on your side table in the hotels where we stayed, in the rest rooms, on every table where we ate, in the shops, and around every block there would be another flower stand. It felt Heavenly! Today I am remembering that heavenly feeling.Thursday, March 26, 2009
I'm trying not to be depressed
We have had more snow and it is a blustery, windy, winter day but look at the date! It is not winter it is Spring! So I had to take some inside pictures to make me think that it was spring. The chickens think it is spring because they are laying like crazy, anyone need any eggs? It is going to be Easter soon so some springy Easter decorations are trying to make me feel better. We had our New Beginnings on Tuesday and it turned out great and I feel bad that I forgot my camera because it was so cute with our little Beehives (not the girls, the ones we made.) hanging from plant stands and flowers blooming in the value colors everywhere so the top picture is a small remembrance of the night. I'm thinking the egg hunt will be in the snow again. Maybe we should make it a tradition to have it in May, it was so fun when the weather was so nice. Last year we celebrated it in May because everyone was going to be here when Mac came home from his mission, it was great and the memories of that day are already making me feel better.Monday, March 23, 2009
Springtime in Cub River
You never quite know what kind of weather you will get in the springtime. Most of the pictures taken on this collage was on Saturday when it was almost 70 degrees, the two snow pictures were taken today while it is snowing and the temperature is 25 degrees. It was great to have a sneak peek of what is to come but I feel like we are back to winter today.I love Spring!!

I realy liked this video.
Just scroll down to the bottom of my page and put my music on mute so you can here this better, it is great!
I have been installing some new hardware on my computer
Here's something to make you laugh
Installing a Husband
Okay, this was just hilarious, and I copied it off some ones blog.
INSTALLING A HUSBAND
Dear Tech Support,
Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as NBA 5.0, NFL 3.0 and Golf Clubs 4.1.Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail. What can I do?Signed,
Desperate.
DEAR DESPERATE,
First, keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system. Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.html, try to download Tears6.2, and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update. If those applications work as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, XBOX 7.0, or HALO 6.1.Please note that HALO 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the violence and shooting Beta.Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources.)In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend5.0-program. This is an unsupported application and will crash Husband1.0.In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Cooking 3.0 and Hot Lingerie 7.7.
Good Luck!Tech Support

The academy award for Best Actor goes to....
Of course it would go to Mr. Jones for being the best Hill Billy Bob out there. You will probably want to watch this a couple of times so you can see him coming on the stage with his "Oh Brother where art thou" walk. I knew he had it in him because if you had gone to high school with him you would have seen it on all of the assemblies. Yes, he is a natural and I love him.

I have been sick...
but I am feeling better.
I will start from the last to the most recent and show you the last week, there are a lot of pictures so get ready!
Here we are celebrating Carson's birthday with his special "Birthday Dinner", he wanted tamales so that is what we had.
He had a Star Wars cake and even had some extra rocket boosters on it.
Of course it isn't a trip to Reno if you don't get a picture of "Cowboy Duke".
Carson got his scriptures for his birthday, he got a journal from Mac and Jess and he had already written 2 1/2 pages by the day of his baptism, I told Mac he would use it.
The makings of his cake, way to go Rainee you are quite the cake baker!
Dad got some soil therapy while there and Evan was his little buddy everywhere he went.
As you can see Bryce really enjoyed the birthday cake.
We went to a new Sports store in Reno called Scheels, it was huge and had a Ferris wheel and the coolest aquariums of fresh and salt water fish. Of course there was the wild animals everywhere.
This was in the sports store too, it was in the children's department so the kids could play while you shopped for their clothes.
Here is some more shots of the wild animals.
Here we all are after the baptism, I was still feeling well at this time.
Doug and Carson before the baptism.
Caron had to show me his acrobatics and his missing teeth!
Bryce had to get his eye protection on after being hit in the face with one of the flying bullets. They all decided to gang up on Grandpa.
Now Evan is ready too.
Evan has the remnants of his blankie but he is still holding on to all of the pieces, I asked him if he was ever going to throw it away and he said, "Neber", and then Doug asked his what he would do when he was a grown up and a Dad and he replied," I'm not a Dad I am just a little boy."
Here is the second production of the road show, he still looks pretty much like a redneck!
We celebrated Mary's birthday on Saturday. This is the 3 amigos, it was hard to get a picture of all of them looking at the camera, Tydon was okay because he had something to put in his mouth.
I actually got a little smile out of Lincoln!
Mac was trying to teach Tydon how to do sit ups, it was pretty funny to watch because he kept lifting up his legs instead of his upper body.
This is Tydon trying to help Mac do his push ups, Mac really got a work out.
Now Kace had to help him out, he had both of them on at the same time and it nearly killed him.
Here is Mary the birthday girl, we had to celebrate a little late, but Happy Birthday anyway.

Here is Kace showing of his coconuts.
and of course Mac and Nate had to show off theirs as well. It was a fun night but was kind of cut short because of daylight savings time. how many people were late for church today?

It was a fun night but was kind of cut short because of daylight savings time. how many people were late for church today?I feel like I am getting back into the living but I got sick the last couple of days that I was in Reno and then I have been sick all of this week and missed a whole week of work, it was bad. I think I slept for 2 days and felt like doing nothing else. I am feeling better today but my nose is still stuffy and I still have that nagging cough but my head feels clearer and I think I am going to live. I have a lot of pictures to post because I also got my computer back and finally got everything transferred over. I have a new hard drive and 2 more gigs of ram so my computer is flying!
It was fun to be able to go to Carson's baptism and it was great to be able to be there and experience that with him. I am sorry I got sick for the last 2 days but I still had fun and wish I wouldn't have been such a bump on the couch.

Happy Birthday to Mary!
It's Mary's Birthday and we aren't home to celebrate! But we will be home soon and we can always have a party so we will just have to celebrate her birthday all week long. We want to wish Mary a very Happy day and hope that all her dreams come true. We love Mary and the good Mom and wife she is to Lincoln and Isaac. I love Mary's positive attitude, she can say something positive about even the most horrible situations. I wish I had her positive attitude on life, she is a hard worker and very determined and she will graduate from Utah State this spring even though she had a baby in the middle of the semester! Way to go Mary!!
Happy Birthday to You!!
