More of the Jones Reunion

Hike to Rosy's mine

Jones Reunion

Another week another reunion!
This weekend we had the Jones reunion up at Cinnamon Creek and we had a lot of fun reuniting with all of our relatives. This is Corey giving the cousins a ride in the handcart.

This is our breakfast and it was cooked in dutch ovens and it was delicious, I think it was called mountain man quiche. It took us a while to get it finished but it was worth the wait.

Kace had so much fun playing with all of the cousins he didn't even know he had and I don't think he was dry the whole reunion.
Tydon loved the water too and he was quite funny trying to squirt everyone with the hose.
We had trivia games and just visited alot and on Saturday morning we went on a hike to rosy's mine. I will make a slideshow of the hike it was great and we had a lot of fun!!

The Marriott Reunion

We went to the Marriott reunion this weekend up on Monte Cristo. We spent most of our time exploring the property and seeing the improvements that have been made. Into Grandma and Grandpa Shaw's property they have made a new road access and they have it paved to the top of the hill. It looks pretty good! We are now able to get into the property easier.
This is on the property where there is a flat place to camp.
Grandpa taking a rest before he gets back to the mule.
Jessica worried about Mac's driving.

I think that Monte Cristo is one of the prettiest places on earth (especially in the spring.)
Lily had her puppies and had to bring her with us to make sure they would all be okay. Lily did great and enjoyed hanging out in the trailer. Sammy fell in love with the little runt.

Mac started the pyramid and Isaac thought the he could finish it. This is about as far as they got.
Four wheeling and going on the mule was really fun. Mac was a little crazy with his driving.

It has been a cold Spring

This last Saturday Alex was married to Sterling and these are some pictures at the temple. You can't tell how cold it really was but if you look close you can see goosebumps and purple skin. The wind was blowing and it became even colder. By the afternoon it was a little warmer and I was just fine with a coat on. It was a great day though and we wish Alex and Sterling the best! I don't think they are cold now (they are in Hawaii on their honeymoon) Wish I was some place warm.
We are happy they found each other!!

Carolyn did a great job with the reception.

What is this!

So now he has taken a nap and when he woke up, THIS, is what his eye looked like. This has all been very weird.

What HAPPENED?!

When Ty woke up this morning this is what his eye looked like? We can't figure out what happened. He didn't cry in the night......he didn't fall (that we know of :) ) there wasn't a bee or wasp that I could find in his room......it was all very weird. It is looking a little bit better now, but is still quite swollen.

Monterey Trip

Photobucket Album

Monterey Trip

I realized on this trip that when you turn 30 it is all downhill from there. My age really showed on this trip. I thought I was doing so good when I packed everything. We got over to Jack London Square which is some shops and restaurants along the coast. We got in the parking lot and I went to the back of the car and realized I did not pack the double stroller. I couldn't believe it. Why would I do that to myself? Needless to say I got the privilege of carrying Bryce everywhere. We then went to the A's vs. Red Sox game. The boys favorite part was the cotton candy. We only lasted through the 6th inning. The next day we went to the Monterey Aquarium. That was fun. But they don't rent strollers so I got to carry Bryce everywhere. Bryce loved looking at the fish. The boys loved that they had so many hands on displays. I am amazed to see how many different kinds of life God created which I know each has a specific purpose.
On our way home we stopped at the Santa Cruz boardwalk which is a good old-fashioned amusement park on the beach with all the carnival games, rides, and food. We rode some rides and ate some junk food the boys loved it. Layne states that this was his favorite part.
On Sunday we were going to church when my age got in the way again. I had forgotten to pack Doug's Sunday clothes. I had packed everyone else's but his. So we had a short lesson that Carson gave us and then we went to the beach and played in the sand. There are some pictures of that. Layne and Carson got some kelp and they turned them into Indiana Jones' whip. I would show you how this worked but my age got in the way again. I forgot to recharge my battery on my camera so it died shortly before this happened.
On Monday we went to the San Francisco Zoo. They did have wagon rentals which we did. I love the Zoo and it was great to do on my birthday.
