The parade and the Rodeo
We all went to the parade on Thursday night and we met Mel, Jaedon, Livy, and Sofia at the parade because they had just drove into town after driving for 2 days to be with us! We were so excited to see all of them and the boys were so excited to go to the parade and the Rodeo!
I think they thought Mac was the "King" or maybe Mac told them he was the "King" so they were treating him like they were his lowly servants.
Here we are waiting for the parade and we were trying to tell Livy that she needed to be more aggressive than the boys if she wanted to get the candy.
Here are the boys ready to pounce on the candy!
Sofia wasn't sure about pouncing on the candy and even when a piece was right at her feet she was a little hesitant to pick it up!
Lincoln was just trying to figure out what all of the fuss was about, I love his little furrowed brow when he is trying to figure something out.
Jessica and Livy decided the "girls" should stick together.
They all were excited to go to the carnival and use all of their tickets!
If you can tell some of them were brave enough to lift up there hands!
Tydon couldn't wait until the next ride. Evan is saying "Gee that was fun".
We all went to the famous Preston night Rodeo. We enjoyed it even if it was a little damp.
Yee, haw, go you cowboys!
What a fun night we had with everyone together!

More activities
Ont the 24th we went over to the 24th Celebration that they had in Mapleton. The big hit of the day was this water slide that they had built on the hillside. They had padded the trench they had dug with cement padding and then had staked down the plastic with long stakes and hay bales. The water came from an irrigation pipe and it made quite the stream coming down the hill. It was super fun, I know from experience because they left it up until Tuesday and the YW used it for their activity. We went down at least a hundred times and it was padded so nice you didn't even need a tube!
Evan thought this was totally awesome!!
Carson had a few turns but Evan just kept on going.
They had a chicken chase and we didn't catch any! (We don't really need any more chickens!)
On Sunday we went to church and I love how the Cannon boys pose for their pictures, they kind of remind me of the "little rascals".
We went on a hike to Willow Spring. Don't you love the way they all like to look "tough"! Is that a boy thing?
Hiking across the river.
What Grandma?
I just love the look on McKenly's face.
More of the tough guys!
Will you just hold still!
Almost holding still.
More of the river crossings.
I'm going to scare you!
Mac, you are such a man! I love your Man Purse!
Rainee, blow harder! we can't hear you!
I will just stand here and scare them when they come down the trail.
Were you scared?
Bryce is showing me his tough man's face!
I love this hike, it is just so beautiful.
Okay, one , two, three, hold still! and look at the camera. We almost got everyone looking! It has been a fun time having everyone here, I still have more to show you so stay tuned!

What a fun week it has been!
This last week we have had just loads of fun the Cannon's came on Thursday and then the Bassett's came on the next Thursday!
We have been doing lots of very fun activities. On Friday we went to the Minnetonka Cave and I can't believe I have lived here for 10 years and have never gone! It was so fun and because we went during the day, Mr. Jones did not come with us, so I am definitely taking him back to see it. He would love it.
I wondered if the Cannon boys would like it because it is quite the cave and there are a lot of steps to get to the end.
They only take 30 people in at a time so we had to wait about 40 minutes to have our turn. This is us patiently waiting.
And here they are patiently waiting again.
It is 444 steps meaning up and down steps to get into the cave and 444 steps to get back out. It was a cool 40 degrees so we were not hot! I had to find sweatshirts for all of them because they did not bring any jackets.
We saw stalactites and stalagmites, and we did get a little chilly if we stopped because the tour lasts 90 minutes!
They thought it was pretty cool, (not literally, but awesome!)
McKenly loved it too, she especially liked how cool it was,(temperature) because she was able to sleep most of the hike.
Yes, Bryce liked it too.
Evan felt like he was Indiana Jones!
We are almost to the end!
What a great cave!
This was the only rock they were allowed to touch in the cave, it was smooth and slippery from all of the people touching it. As Evan said, the oil on your skin is not good for the rocks, but if you didn't have oil on your skin your face would crack right off.
This is the trail to get back. If you look through the slats it is kind of scary so as Evan said," Grandma just look straight ahead then it won't be so scary."
