Tydon and Kace came up to visit and they came in the house saying these words. It cracked me up how Tydon would say it. I think this movie made an impression on him don't you think?

Just finished
this book! I could not put it down, I started it yesterday and finished it this morning. Thanks to Jon Robison at work for loaning me his copy. I am getting my own copy though because I can't wait for Ryan to read it and tell me what he thinks. So, if you want something to read and have a a day or so in this dreary weather, get the book and read it you won't be sorry. The next book is called Catching Fire and now I can't wait to read that one. The third one comes out in August. Monday, February 15, 2010
It must be cold outside...
She found a remnant at the fabric store and made this cute diaper bag , (she got the pattern online.) It really was cute and she had made all kinds of pockets on the inside and had lined it in vinyl for all of the messy things that go into a diaper bag.
When I opened McKenly's closet I saw more clothes than any little girl would be able to wear. But I think that is the funnest part of having a girl, (dressing her in all of the darling outfits they have for girls.
Rainee also made the crib blanket, bumper pads, sheets, and curtains to go in McKenly's pink room.)
So I had to make some pink and brown shoes and headband to go in her pink and brown room.
Before I left Rainee had called me about this cute mobile that was at Babies R Us. It didn't look like it would be too hard to make so before I left I cut out all of the butterflies and flowers with my Cricut. I then brought an old wire wreath frame and spray painted it white after I got there. We then spent one afternoon stringing crystal beads and paper flowers and butterflies on fishing line.
I think it turned out very cute, we then got excited about all of the possibilities you could do for mobiles with this idea. It flutters so cute in the room when there is a breeze.
I then tried these felted flowers and had to make more. I made the first one in Reno and then came home and tried different kinds. I attached a pin on the back and also a clip so you could attach it to a headband, a hat, a bag, or a scarf. I actually wore one on Saturday to our Stake Relief Society program and got the compliment that there are "pretty classy ladies in Idaho."
While I was a t Rainee's I had time to fill quite a few orders that I had for headbands and hats. These are some of my favorites. I had a lady bring in a cute black and white polka dot jacket, lined with hot pink, that she had bought for her little girl and she wanted me to make something to match the jacket. I think this one turned out pretty cute!Sunday, February 7, 2010
This week...
We went downtown and bought some tickets for the Cannon boys valentine's gift. The tickets had to be purchased at the Silver Legacy so we went into the Casino with the stroller and the 3 little ones, then we went back out on the street and Evan decided he needed a ride too, so he got into the back of the stroller basket and enjoyed the ride. We won't tell you what the tickets are because I don't want to spoil the surprise.
Our week wouldn't be complete without a trip to Chuckee Cheese. I did not have the pizza,( I didn't want to get sick again.) The boys had a lot of fun with the games and didn't want to leave.
We took Bryce, Evan, and McKenly to the Children's museum in Carson City. The 2 little boys loved it. Evan said, as we were driving into Carson City that this is where his brother Carson lives. Silly boy, he lives with you, but it would be fun to have a city named after you.
I couldn't resist some more pictures of McKenly, I need to get some pictures of all of her cute little clothes but I don't think I have enough memory on my camera. This girl has more clothes than you can imagine!
We went to Carson's school to see him get 2 awards. He got the Principal's award and then also one for getting straight A's and O's. Way to go Carson for being such a great student!Wednesday, February 3, 2010

Nothing but trouble
I think these two together are hilarious and it just makes me laugh the things these little minds come up with.Sunday, January 31, 2010
A typical night
When you are at the Cannon house it is interesting to see how 4 boys pass their time. I get to watch a scenario about like this every evening. It usually involves wrestling, playing sword fights, bombing each other or beating each other up. These activities will continue until 1. someone gets hurt. 2. someone breaks something or 3. it is time to go to bed. I was sitting on the couch with Evan the first night that McKenly came home and he was holding her next to me very carefully, he then looked up at me and said, "Grandma I can't wrestle her until she is 2." and then he said, " I will have to wrestle her carefully." He sat there a minute and then he said, " I can really wrestle her when she is 5." So little McKenly I hope that you are ready for these rowdy brothers of yours. I am sure you will learn to wrestle because Evan has already told me that he will teach you.
Another story about how boys think girls should be. I was again sitting on the couch with Carson by my side and he was now holding little McKinley. While he is holding her, this tiny little girl let a large amount of gas loose. Carson looked at her and said,"McKenly I thought you were supposed to be a lady!" he was very serious and then looked at me and said, "ladies aren't supposed to do that!"
So little McKenly, you have your work cut out for you. You will need to show these boys how ladies are supposed to act and you will have to teach these brothers of yours how to act like gentlemen!

Lincoln is one!!
We celebrated Lincoln's first birthday and I can't believe it has been one year since his birth! We watched as he opened his gifts and Laughed at the silly cookie monster, I think if I got this gift as a one year old I would think that there was another kid in the family. It was so life like and it made us laugh as it went through all of it's antics. Watch Tydon laugh and then watch Lincoln's face as he tries to figure out this silly toy. Then watch how daintily Lincoln eats his first bites of cake. It was a fun night and we were thoroughly entertained watching Tydon, Kace and Lincoln celebrate!

I can laugh now...
First, I will tell you a story about Nate when he was about Tydon's age. We were going to school at BYU and I was only working about once every 2 weeks because I had 2 little ones at home. Needless to say we were very poor college students. I had wanted a new bedspread to put on my bed and had saved money for the material to make one and found a great deal at a discount fabric store. I made the bedspread and I was so happy to have something new in my house.
One afternoon while Rainee was napping I was doing something in the kitchen and decided I better check on Nate to see why he was being so quiet. I went into my room and found him with my sharp sewing scissors and then saw what he had been working on. The bedspread was hanging over the edge of the bed and he had taken the scissors and made little fringes all along the edges. Needless to say I was not very happy and there was a lot of screaming going on and Nate was put into timeout for a very long time. I was very sad for days because I had to live with that bedspread for a very long time because I didn't have the money to replace it. I wasn't able to laugh for a very long time about this incident. But I can now and I can laugh at the incident that I am about to tell you about and it has only been a couple of days. I must be older and wiser.
This is a picture of Tydon who is definitely his Father's child. Now to tell you about how alike he really is. The other night Ryan, I and Kace were in the computer room and we thought that Caitlin and Tydon were in my bedroom watching TV. Ryan got up and went into the bedroom and all of the sudden I heard Ryan say" Oh, Grandma is going to be very mad at you." I got up to go into the bedroom and I did start screaming, "No, No, NO," and then heard Caitlin yell." Go to bed right now, you are in timeout." He also had my very, very sharp scissors in his hands and I guess when Ryan came into the room he saw Tydon gripping the scissors with two hands and they were embedded in the middle of a ball of yarn that was sitting by my chair. He had pretty much made spaghetti of the yarn. He was working on the second ball of yarn and we then saw the rest of the destruction. He was holding the scissors like a pair of shears and was chopping at about what ever he could find that he could cut. Luckily we were in the room after about 5 minutes because I later thought of all the more he could have done. I had been working on a project, these cute little headbands and I had a pair of my circular stainless steel knitting needles to work on the project. They are made of a pretty strong wire and he had cut them into 3 places. He had also fringed the project I had been working on. I then looked at my leather ottoman and I guess he had decided to see if those shears would cut that as well. So I guess if you pass on a trait of yourself that sometimes it is intensified. I did shed a few tears and I felt sad. I wasn't angry at Tydon but I felt so bad at the destruction that had been done in such a little time. Kace did say later it probably was good that his Dad wasn't here because he would have been yelling very, very loud.
Here is the project I was working on and I did complete after Caitlin took Kace and Tydon to Logan and found replacements for the knitting needles and yarn. When I got home that afternoon Tydon gave me a hug and told me he was sorry. I don't think he knew the destruction that he did only that he was thinking "Wow, look how cool these scissors are when you pull them back and forth."
Here is the other project I had with the pink yarn, it is finished now and I was able to replace it.Sunday, January 17, 2010
Celebrating
We celebrated Tydon's birthday the night before Rachel and Nate left for Greece. He got this truck that played some rocking music when you pushed a button and he then started showing his dance moves. I don't know what was up with the head banging. Then I looked over and Lincoln was getting into the groove as well. Tydon is such a cute, fun loving kid and it has been fun having him here while his parents are away. Happy Birthday Tydon!!
